i have been getting like 15 mpg, and my fuel trim is all sorts of screwed, the only way to get it to 'run' is to play with the throttle and find the sweet spot, which isn't much fun.

i am running a turbo with bigger injectors, stage 2 crower cams...everything. i used to have a SAFC-II but it shorted out on me, but i hear they are junk, and mine really didn't seem to make much of a difference anyways. i don't have the money or time right now for a standalone EMS, but i am looking to see what you guys would recommend for piggybacks. i am basically looking for what runs the best on these cars obviously, i've heard of the datalogger, but i liked the way the SAFC was, just all the features and stuff. thanks for the help guys.

I'll tell you right now, you need to do more research... information won't be spoon fed to you here, and most of what you just posted didn't even make sense.

Piggybacks intercept and modify sensors' signals to evoke calculated ECU responses.

Dataloggers take and store sensors' data... there is nothing to adjust, just to observe.

The S-AFC, which is a piggyback, doesn't work well for us because it adjusts the MAP sensor's signal... the MAP sensor on 420A DSMs only reads in vacuum, however, you now operate in boost as well as vacuum.

In fact, that's the reason why all piggybacks don't really work well for us.

If you don't want to buy and install MS or otherwise, I suggest you ditch the S-AFCII altogether and get an S-FMU. It'll take some adjusting, but you'll be able to get your fuel mileage and power back.

Definitely get an SFMU if you have bigger injectors. If you just threw in bigger injectors with no way of controlling them, you will be dumping way too much fuel for it to run good.

sorry guys it was late...LOL.

first off, what's the difference between and S-FMU and an AFPR?

second, i'm still new to the whole DSM scene, this is my first car, i've had all trucks before. what would you recommend with the 450cc injectors and 15 psi of boost? isn't there a specific ratio i have to buy? such as a 12:1, 8:1, or 1:1???

First of all, do you have a built bottom end to handle 15 psi of boost? It doesn't say anything about that in your mods so do yourself a favor and don't boost that much if it's not.

yes i do...i haven't updated my mods since my build, i should probably get on that. i did a search on one and all i could find was vortech
