looking for a manual trans to buy

I plan on doing a manual trans swap in my 1g, my auto trans is messing up so i really want to this. Im just looking for a good place that sells rebuilt trans for a decent price..im afraid of transmissons from junkyards. And since mines is a 1990 do i have to buy only 1990 parts, meaning transmisson, shift linkage, stuff like that?i just want have things cleared up for me before i begin this lil project..thanks for your time!

I would stay away from the 1990 trans, stay away from it. Make sure whatever you get, make sure the shift linkage, cables, and shifter assembly are from the same year. I would recommend a 1993-1994 tranny as they are stronger stock.

Hey thanks for the advice! But i still want to know a good place that sells transmisson on the internet..i know ebay stuff is usually bad so imma stay away from that. Im in the florida area maybe any one knows any good shops that sells transmisson here?

Hey thanks , i jus hit this one junk yard found a 1990 eclipse 1.8, but no trans so i took out the shift assembly and cables for 25 bucks..i gotta take out the brake and clutch pedals and thats a B*&*h try again tomm. I found a transmisson from jdm engine depo, fwd for the 2.0 liter used for 300 dollars i think thats a good deal, i know the shipping is gonna kill me tho...but ne ways thanks for the help!
