I have yet to hear that. I've read a million times they are exactly the same. Can anyone confirm?

Mitusbishi Lancer Evolution III Specifications & Equipment

Or, if you prefer something a little more "reputable" - from Sport Compact Car's History of the Lancer Evolution:

Evolution III
Chassis Code CE9A
...

Ongoing improvements to the engine's breathing were rendering the existing turbo, a TD05H-16G-7, a liability; compressor efficiency was taking a dump at higher engine speeds, adversely impacting volumetric efficiency. So Mitsubishi swapped the old 60mm 16G compressor wheel for a more suitably sized 68mm 16G6 wheel and redesigned the exhaust again for less backpressure. With these new lungs and another bump in compression ratio to 9.0:1, power crept to 266 hp at 6250 rpm, while torque stayed at 228 lb-ft.

Well my buddy has a jdm motor and it looks nice but i myself didnt have 1500 to throw down on the basically exact replica motor... i just bought a low milage 60k USDM entire Long block for 350 so i can laugh at everyone while having the same thing... oh and i tore my engine apart as well to put in Arp hardware and metal headgasket and it was as clean as the jdm pictures the other members posted.... It basically comes down to if you have the money go ahead. if you dont just look around to find gem like me :p .. Oh and the engine is a 6bolt... made 3/92 with only 60k on it hehe :p

Well please tell me where you got a complete usdm long block with only 60k on the motor for $350 right now. I know plenty of people who like to know as well. Im guessing you just got lucky and found one in the junk yard.

That's gotta be proof that they clean the hell out of them.

Spray some Seafoam/MCCC/whatever in your 2g motor and I'm sure it'll look the same.

I'm not talking about the outside of the motor. It was full of oil when I got it, I drained it and it was very clean. I pulled the valve cover and inside the head was not oil stained like many older motors, the casting was still silver as opposed to brown from oil staining. Took off the head it the tops of the pistons were not coated in carbon hardly at all and the valves were very clean. The cylinder walls still had the crosshatching and no scratches, still in brand new condition on every cylinder. Pulled the oil pan, bottom end was also very clean the oil pick up was completly clean with no debris sitting on the screen at all.

Thats what I mean. You can clean that when it's sitting on the floor. It was so good in fact that it's a shame I took it appart it would have been a great complete motor for somebody but im building it regardless...
