Tommorow, friday, or saturday I am going to go look at a red tsi with 101k miles, no mods, 5 speed, supposedly no trans grinds and no mechanical problems at all, the only problem on the exterior is that the gas door is broke, maybe broken all the way off, and there is a small ding on the driverside door, the paint is not sun faded and in good condition, he wants 2100, i no its a good deal, just want to see what you guys think, and I also wanted to know what else I should ask the guy about the car, and what else should i look for on the car. And he said he didnt do a compressions check on the car, so how should i know the car is internally sound, easily? This is only going to happen if the guy that is looking at it today (thursday) does not buy the car, which i believe he probablly will becasue this always happens to me when looking at cars, will you guys, the dsm community please pray so that this guy does not buy the car from under me?

Def ask owner when he last time change timing belts, check the turbo for the shaft play, when you test drive it make shore the steering wheel is not shaking, make shore the oil is not leaking under the Plug Cover ,and if you get the chance take a look at the spark plugs, make shore no oil on them, that would be it :p :dsm: :thumb:

history. see if the guy knows its history. lots of people who own those cars will tear it up. try to get the truth out of him. cause if it has been run hard you might have to do some things like change valves/springs deff a timing belt cause its prolly a bout time for that anyway. but yeah dont be afraid to get on it when you test drive thats the best way to see whats wrong.
