Looking at a 95 Talon, have some ?'s

Ok, so right now I own a 93 GSX, I think that it is starting to have some troubles with the engine, tranny and suspension components. I really don't want to put any more money into the car, I'd rather let it sit til I'm out of college. So on to the questions, a local dealer has a 95 talon tsi front wheel drive auto that I test drove today. It has 77,XXX miles and appears to be in fairly good condition. The one thing that I noticed is that underneath the valve cover, like on and just below the head there appears to be some oil, I asked and they said that they hadn't noticed any leakage. Now I have a simular problem on my GSX and I am goin through like a quart every 2000 miles (but I know its not all coming from there). Basically I was just wondering if anyone has any advice for anything to look for (crankwalk?, I don't know what to look for in an auto), and any suggestions on what the oil could be coming from beside the valve cover gasket? I would get one from a private owner and save $$$... If the oil is near the dipstick it may have blown out through there...I know my dipstick wiggles out and shoots oil sometimes :-/ You should always check the oil and make sure there are no paricles

some oil on the head is VERY common., it could be a small leak from the v/c gasket or a leak from the bolt on the side of the head. Thats deff nothing to worry about.
c/w prob isnt a issue being an A/T ( at least your odds are better )

Replace the oil cap. The gasket has transmogrified into bakelite.

Thanks for the help, I am goin to a mechanic tomorrow to have the compression, and other miscellaneous things checked out. Hopefully everything goes well, it sounds like a great deal I guess I will find out tomorrow if it is!
