Look at this swap

I remember that too. :hmm: I think I still have that magazine around somewhere.

Yeah, there's a yellow one that I see it a few times a year at the local test-n-tune track too. Maybe it's the same one you're talking about.

I always see this yellow one at Dragway 42, if thats the car your talking about. Ive seen it run some crap times, but trap 120+ on numerous occassions.

I dont know why there arent more swaps with 4g power plants. With how many platforms came with the motor and how good of a motor it is right out of the box you'd thing it would be more common.

Some mixed feelings about this. It's a sleeper, yet it's a car I would never drive. Great engineering effort though...

I have known for a while that the swap was possible and even told my cousin to do it when he had one that he supercharged. I dont really like that body style, but its kind of a cool swap, as long as you do it all the way and go awd.

Sweet. I had an 03 Tiburon, it handled like an Evo. A lot of parts were similar.

There was a guy at the shoot out last summer over here with a old school Hyundai elantra with a 4g63 and awd. Now that car was bad ass.

Was his name Sean? Probably was. He owns one of the fastest RD series tibbys around.

Sweet. I'm not a huge fan of that body style but hey, it's still pretty sick; I wonder how it handles. Anyone knows the type of suspensions on those?

I believe it's very similiar, if not identical to the 2g FWD's. I'll have to go out and compare my 2g with my RD2. They handle INCREDIBLY though, very nimble compared to a dsm.

In one of my old Import Tuner mags, like back from the 90's there was a 96 tib that had 2 engines, single turbos, and ran on alcohol. It was, and still is the only cool old body tibby ive ever seen.

It's called the dragonfab. A POS, hacked together promotional vehicle that has been whored among the RD forum because no one wants to fix it.

This AWD tibby hasn't been around in years, the 4g is a direct drop in motor in the RD series (97-99 RD1, 00-01 RD2). I actually plan on buying my 00 Tibby back from my dad and doing this exact conversion. Planned on it since I first saw the swap on RDtiburon.com

I borrowed an 02 to go to the store once. It had the turning radius of a Shagvan, and handled like it was on rails.

An 02 eh? :hmm:

That's the one I'm talking about too and I usually see it at 42 as well. It usually runs a slow et, but I have seen it trap 120+ like you said.
