I got my car running finally and when I put the logger on it I am reading -59*C. My stock coolant guage isnt working but Im hooking that back up. I also went to pull the cel with my logger and it wasnt for the coolant temp sensor. I know something isnt right. How can I fix this temp reading?

I used a splice in connector about 4in up the harness from the ecu and tested the voltage and it was about 2.5 volts. My battery was low so this may not be accurate but when I tested continuity from there to the sensor ended it did not show any. I am gonna try to run my own wire from the splice to the sensor and see how it works out. Thanks

Well heres an update. I used the t in splice connectors and ran a new wire . I put a splice connector in the harness 3in from the ecu and then one in the wire by the connector. I ran a new wire threw the wall. Then I used the voltmeter and tested continuity from the plug for the ecu to the connector and it was good. I started the car and now the temp is reading 27*F which I know is too low. Im not sure why it is still low. Could it be a bad ground for the sensor or the sensor is bad. I cant drive the car because the ecu temp isnt reading and neither is the one in the dash so I dont want to over heat. I ran it for a minute but 27*F was all I got and it was 90* out so that cant be right. Any ideas would be great. Thanks

I still havent been able to fix this reading. I will try a new ground. I been trying to get a new sensor but the stores around me dont carry it. Where is the best place to get it and do you guys have any more ideas on what it could be. Thanks

I had a similar problem a few months ago. The tps sensor, mas, and coolant sensor all share the same ground which happens to ground out at the ecu. I got tired of messing with it and cut all 3 ground wires right at the sensor, soldered all 3 wires from each sensor together and then grounded them all to the chassis. Steve helped me out with my problem too he is really helpful, but I just got tired of problems with them sensors. I havent had a problem since and I ran my best 1/4 mile time after I did it. :sneaky:

Ok I ordered the a new sensor from diamond star motorsports and it said it was for the ecu but when i got it, it was different then the one that was in there. The one that is in there now looks like the one in the radiator and the one I got is the one that goes in below the ecu sensor on the tstat housing. I dont know if I got the right sensor or not. My logger is reading -67*F so its still not working. I used the voltmeter and there at only .27 volt goin to the sensor. I tried to reground it but I got cel #21 on my logger. I need help I cant get this right.
