Locking up in 5th, Can't put in 1st

1000 miles after the ACT 2600 is installed, it finally shifts nice, and grabs nice. Finished a 2 hour highway run, and getting off the highway, I can not for the life of me pull the shifter out of 5th. I'm yanking on the thing, and no go. It finally comes out after a huge struggle, and letting the car stall. Then it wouldn't go into 1st, no matter how hard I push. It's like that off and on, but only in 1st...sometimes shifting like butter, others like I'm pushing against a brick wall. I noticed after the install, that OEM throw bearings are the ones to put in...but I didn't pick up the ACT kit, therefore am not sure which one was put in. Is this something that can be caused by the bearing going bad already, as I've heard ACT ones are garbage? The problems never stop...goodness gracious. Thanks in advance

Make sure your bell housing bolts haven't come loose, and check your clutch hydraulics for leaks.
