 well i have been looking into doing a bottom end rebuild for a 2nd block i have and i have found that some kits offer lock tabs in two different formats...either all left or 1/2 and 1/2. what difference will this make?
also does anyone have any recommendations for sites that offer good well price rebuild kits(bottom end) offering higher compression without going stroker 2.2? i am looking for more low to mid range power and i would like to hear any suggestions/recommendations.
another thing i plan on is getting another head to p&p and add a better cam shaft i was looking at crane sport and turbo cams(i am thinking of getting the star turbo kit in the future but i have not yet fully decided.)
i have full access to tools and a machine shop, and i would like to hear any recommendations you guys have.
my experience mostly lies in diesel rebuild and i know the applications are the same...but i just want to make sure..
i am a member of a local dsm site in n.c. and most of those guys are 2g turbo's...they know there stuff but they are too quick to reply with sell car/buy turbo....I'm not looking for whats easy i enjoy working on cars....and i don't want to be super fast. i just want to better enjoy my dsm by working on it like everyone on this site. i have been reading the threads on this site and have found the members here to be more informative and helpfull.
so feel free to post your thoughts info ect...
thanks in advance

JE pistons & eagle rods are a good choice

www.howellautomotive.com
BUT I heard that there shipping sucks BUT I have never had a problem waiting too long for my parts when I orderded through them

www.conceptillusions.com
fast service and very cool guy's to talk too no problems through them

personaly I would not stroke my motor
I did not have an extra 1000 dollars to buy the crank BUT even if I did I would have spent it some where else

ARP head studs and main bolts are a must also

yeah i feel the same way about that $1300 for a forged stroker crank.
that's a big chunk of a turbo setup.
hey is your turbo sys. a custom setup?
how much compression were you runing b4 you did your turbo setup.
any head work??

come on guys i really need your help.

I have the same question about lock tabs...What is the difference? I am planning on buying a new crankshaft tomorrow for a 98 n/t eclipse 420a engine. So are my lock tabs 1/2 and 1/2 or are they all left?
