Hey guys, I've been having a small issue with my car in the past couple days. Situation at hand being that I went to the corner store the other night, turned my car off.. it sounded like a nice shut off. Got back in the car and went to crank it over, was a rather ruff start and then it diesel'd out on me when it crunk over. Now when i try to start it, about 1 out of 10 turns of the key, i'll get spark to the motor, but, it will not start up. I've checked my plugs, my fuses, my wires, my coil pack, my C.P.S., my timing belt, my cam gears, all my wiring, basically just about anything that would cause the problem.

I hooked an ODB II reader up to it and it's telling me my TPS sensor is out, which by my 3 different voltmeter's it's still reading properly. I also believe if it was bad, it wouldn't affect my cylinders getting spark. After a while, i began to believe it was my flywheel, but my gears are turning while i try to push the motor over, so no go there.

About an hour after the flywheel brainstorm, i grab a spare ECU i had, only difference in the two was the spare was for an AUTO tranny, not a manual which i have. I jack it in and it acts like it wants to turn over more, but still the 1 out of 10 spark problem. I'm pretty much at a lost end with the situation.

I've done no internal motor mods, no major aftermarket wiring or anything to the vehicle. just an CAI, gutted cat. the TPS, CAS and o2 sensors are fairly new.

Any help would be grand! :thumb:

Yeah, sorry i didn't previously add this, i tested everything under the hood. I tried a couple-three coil packs as well. Checked from the cylinder to the coilpack its self. It just happens every once in a while..kind of annoying not knowing the issue. Going to go try to snag a different matching ECU for it tomorrow, i'm down that far.. any other suggestions boss?

Any thing from anyone would be helpful, even if you think it may sound silly. Can't find an ECU on this side of the states for anything either. junkyard even wants 250 for one. If anyone has anything, feel free to call 904.491.7148 just ask for chris, thanks.
