I was curious where my nex couple of grand was going to go. My clutch is FINALLY on it's way out and I'm going to have my tranny out anyways, so LSD time!:D
Does anyone hae any experience with a KAAZ or a Quaife? I hear KAAZ is better, but might not last as long (as if my car will last long either).

Also has anyone used one of those cheap inserts and then moved up to a real LSD? I'm curious how much better they are for that extra $800.

One more: Anyone know where to get a good price on the LSDs? I've found both of them for about $800 (which I thought was a good deal on a Quaife).

Definitely do a LSD or LSD insert. Otherwise FWD will be even more worthless than it alread is with big HP.

From what I hear...Kaaz is the way. Clutch type owns Quaife.

I have the KAAZ unit. All in all I love it. It does make some interesting noises sometimes though. I really don't mind, it certainly does the job.

The one thing I must say is I think I have the 2 way version. Make sure you buy the 1.5 way. I have found that the LSD doesn't unlock when I am engine braking in the snow.. which means I lose all traction and therefore steering (fun stuff huh)

Don't buy into that crap about the KAAZ not lasting long. It is good for at least 100K miles. Also, with the Quaife unit, it is actually possible to over power and therefore go back to an open carrier (not what I want and the decideing factor for my KAAZ purchase).

Also, the KAAZ fluid is REALLY expensive.. and SUCKS in the cold weather. The car actually stalls if I release the clutch too fast when it's really cold outside (it gets that thick)

I'm putting my Quaife in tomorrow and everything I have heard people like the Quaife better. It all depends on who you talk to. I've had people tell me that they had the KAAZ and it broke on them so they went for the Quaife which they should have done in the first place. Do a search and you'll get a ton of info on this.
Plus side on the Quaife... There is no maitenence. (No fluid changes, or special fluid) And Lifetime warranty

But I'll let you know how mine works out after I break my 2600 in.
