lifter tap

Hey guys i just started my car and it's getting cold out here and i just heard my lifter tapping. car warmed up a few minutes and it went away.. Is this a common problem i only have 70,000 miles on the car, also i know after a lifter goes bad the car wont run right, is this somethign that needs to be done now or is it just something common that happens with these? Thanks

What kind of oil are you running, whens the last time you changed it?
Yes it's exteremly normal unfortantly.

its common with the stock lifters. I just replaced my stock ticking lifters with the revised 3mm lifters. No ticking and no phantom knock anymore

Normal and capricious. There's a huge body of lifter tap threads with "cures" ranging from oil type/viscosity/additives/filter choice possibly making a difference.
