I pulled my t25 turbo today for the first time. Went well, only stripped the head off one bolt, which holds the o2 housing and turbo together. Still working on getting that bolt out.

When I pulled the LICP, it was FULL of OIL! :barf: so I'm a bit nervous about that, and will need to clean out the I/C and such. I hope nothing is damaged internally.

Any insight on this issue?

Now for some more research t04b vs evo III... argh.. hard decision.

I KNOW the turbo is blown, that's why I removed it from service.
My question is not WHY there is OIL in the I/C pipe, but rather if it is probable that anything else is damaged, and what I can do to prevent damage when I start the car again. It smoked a lot when I ran it last, but I know that was because of the turbo

Just make sure you clean out the ic really well to mainten it's efficiency, the rest is no big deal. If you want to be anal like me, remove and clean uicp and th tb.

Do you mean what other damages could driving on a blown turbo cause? Well when my t-25 went out (more like destroyed itself) I dropped the pan on my old motor to find ground up bearing by the oil return tube. If you can afford the time, I'd drop it and clean it out as well as the oil return tube just to make sure.

I will drop the pan and look for metal in there.

I am using an aftermarket oin return line this time...

I was meaning can the oil go in through the TB and get into the combustion chamber, not combust, and cause hydrolock? Long shot, but I just want to be SURE

NO.

Yea, the oil in the LICP isn't going to hydrolock your motor, it'll just smoke. I had MAFT when my turbo went out and the oil sprayed out of my BOV and made a big mess under my hood...it also got on the wires of my MAF and it would sputter and buck anytime I tried to get on it.

if you already have the turbo off...i would go ahead and pull the exhaust mani to check the exhaust ports on the head. my turbo went out because of hard use (we all probably have this), age, and blown valve stem seals. might cost a little more time and $$$ for the head work, but a simple check and an exhaust gasket now can save a prematurely ruined turbo.
