So my left plate light mount broke off from rust and it dangles down in front of my plate. So what i would like to do is run a LED strip or something similar to that with a bright white light to light up plate at night. Has anyone done something similar to this? I know it would be very easy to set up since i did the same thing on my buddys vette. It's either run the led strip or get a bright light for the right side and say F the left side and only run one light, unless this will cause some problems with the policia. So let me know what you guys think, and if anyone has pictures of something similar to this, post em up!!

I dont have pics but i did an led strip on my s10 it was a thin cheapo ebay one but it tucked nicely and worked fine. I just wired it strait ot the wires that were there i say do it no one likes stock

You will have a problem with the cops if you don't have both bulbs lit, I did. I had your same problem but I resolved it by removing the rusted out bracket that holds the bulbs and fabricated a new one made out of a piece of metal that I purchased at good ol' home depot. I bought replacement led bulbs and installed my updated bumper. It's a simple fix If you have to remove your bumper.

Edit: Sorry but I didn't take pic's when I did it.

For license plates (at least here in TX) the letters have to be visible from 30 feet away, just so you know

I ran into this problem with my GS. Both of mine were dangling down due to the rusted out license plate bracket...and it is discontinued and no longer available.

I found one at a junk yard so you could try there. Or, as Paching said, just fab you one up outta some sheet metal ;)

i have ran into the same problem. so im going to purchase a led strip and wire them up but the problem is i dont where to mount the led strip. anyone have any ideas
