Letting block sit in car without pistons or head

So heres the deal. The car is on the side of the house with the pistons out, head off, and oil pan off. I came home today from work and it looked like it was starting to rust alittle. So i cleaned it off as best i could (i'm sick ). So i asked a friends dad about it and he said to make sure you keep them oiled, so i put some paper towel / rags i had laying around filled the block and overed it all with oil once i already wiped it down with oil. So my question is how much of a concern is it about all of this. I plan on putting it all back together soon but i just came down with this nasty ass cold, so i'm not sure what i'm gonna do now.

As long as you keep everything oiled you should be fine. You migh want to plug all of the oil and cooling passages on top of the block to keep moisture out of there.
