Leather seats turning pink/red.

I purchased two front black leather seats of a member here and after a week of use they started fading to pink/red. Can anyone make sense of this? She said they were mint and rarely used.

It's probably what you're using to clean them. I'd change whatevor product im using to some ArmorOn or something like that.

Maybe the centers were dyed red and then re-dyed black to sell and then if you cleaned them, the cleaner is stripping the dye. That center section doesn't even look like a factory 2G seat.

Also leaving them directly in hot sun isn't too good, if you are.

Bingo. I would bet money that the centers were re-covered with red leather, and then painted or dyed black when they changed their mind.

I didn't clean them with anything. Started doing that about a week after I got them and just got tired of them enough now to post and ask.

I would clean off all of the crappy dye the previous owner put on them, and re-dye them with a good quality dye.

I know it's quite a long shot, but I say try to get your money back for false advertising. You obviously didn't buy the parts you were expecting to get.
