OK i have a 95 tsi talon just turned 100k new turbo motor and trans from dealer warrantied work all done at any were from 50-90 k miles..

anyways

i installed a blinky gauge today automete Afr..

and Ive always noticed at wot it sucks balls.. it seems to fall flat on its face.

well the gauge confirmed it after hitting wot the gauge shows a very lean condition.

New plugs new wires
93 octane fuel..
no boost leaks tested about 5 times now before posting.
line ran from turbo to wastegate.
boost gauge show 11psi at wot.

i also get alot of black smoke at wot. which covers my back bumper..

Ive researched and came to the conclusion its detecting knock and pulling timing? why would it do this? can someone point me in the right direction. Ive been working on this now for 2 weeks..

I'm a/t by the way and awd.

I'm not venting..

well what is strange is that you say its running lean, but at the same time, pushing black smoke which is a sign of running too rich. Have you pulled to plugs to see if there was any discoloration on the tips?

well o2 sensor says lean.. which would then in return make the car dump fuel..

but then again.. at wot its in closed loop mode?

pulled plugs today and replaced them.. a little on the white side.. with a little carbon built up arond the screw part
