Toronto,
So I installed W190lp pump with no problems, as per VFAQ I need to unscrew the robber line in the bottom, after attempting that I almost twisted the line (since no hardware stores have 14 and 19 mm flare raches OR even KNOW what it is :| ) ether way I came up with innovative way to undo the top one.

Once it got loose the rubber hose connecting to the metal connectors would not turn so I had to twist the whole line…

Installed the pump and twisted the rubber line so it screws in properly, added gas Teflon tape and was ready to tune…

I go to boost and my friendly DSM sprayed me with fuel (little stream) I freaked out and shut the car off and it has been parked ever since.

Since my bottom one is almost impossible to unscrew (not leaking) and the top one is easy to manage. I went to mitsu and ordered the whole line, it was like $100 dollars so I am thinking of alternatives.

I don’t want anything high flow SS fancy; I just need a car to run for now since it’s my daily driver. What I was thinking is getting Socketless barb and then just fitting the stock cut line on that and put a clamp on. I want something that could hold the pressure and get it locally maybe. Or maybe cut the line on both end and get rid of AN fittings and just flaire it with a tool and get a rubber fuel line and clamp it on both ends.

Let me know what is the best way of fixing this with parts available locally. Your suggestions are appreciated.

its the big main line right off the pump right? if so i had the exact same problem. If you are careful with a cutting wheel you can cut the highest part of the flare, closest to the threads but not on the threads. Hard to explain but. DO NOT cut all the way threw it, just cut a lil bit until you get threw the flare and theres the metal underneath and you can get new fuel line and fuel line clamps and do it that way. I just had to do this last week, i wish I had pictures but I dont. This way works. I just wish it was easier to explain. let me know if you have any questions

It is the line off the main pump. I actually spent few hours and found local an fittings supplier.

I got brass -6 AN Hose Barb to Female -6 AN thread fitting and then going to cut the stock rubber line (from the fitting) unscrew it and just screw the brass one on (with gas Teflon tape) fit it to the barb hose fitting and bought some thick hose clamps and tighten that sucker up. I hope that would work.

One question, most fuel pump assembly is made out of brass, is it okay to use brass AN fittings in line? I know it's a stupid question but I want to be 100% sure, you could never be carefully with fuel, and after I got sprayed with fuel I want to be sure that never happens again.ROFL

Start off by not using teflon tape. It is not fuel resistant nor is it needed for flare fittings, only npt fittings.

Or for bspt fitting. or any tapered pipe threads for that matter.

^^^ You beat me to it! NEVER teflon flared fittings; I bet that is causing your leak. Try an automotive store for those flare wrenches or buy them online.

I was talking about NTP fitting that screws on the fuel pump delivery line and that is a special teflon like tape but for fuel line NTP fitting
