Resolved Largest Radiator Fans?

What is the largest fan sizes I can use in a 2 fan setup to cool my radiator, going to hook them up directly to the ignition for constant cooling... will 2 14" fans fit? Car is stock, thanks.

dont hear of many people with 14", but 12" is prett common.

why are you doing this? is your car overheating? if so, have you checked your cooling system? tried water wetter?

well i burned out the stock fan and figure this: upgrades only mean more heat, so the cooler the better!

Just for reference, this is what our radiator looks like with (2) 12" SPAL fans on it. There's no room for 14" fans.

2 12's is the biggest you can use.

HOW THE H*LL did you mount those!?!?!? I was trying to figure it out today, and I can't figure out how to mount it flush like you did..

I used these little black plastic nails. Well, actually they are threaded nails, so I would consider them to be screws. They run about $5 for a pack of 4. You just run them through the core of the radiator between the fins. Then there is a nut (but it looks like a washer) that you thread on the back side. Then you simply trim the access of the plastic screw (they are about 9" long), and you're done. They are the perfect mounting solution. They are cheap, easy to use, and they keep the fans snug against the radiator without causing any damage to the fans or the radiator core itself. Here's a pic of the back side and top side.

there isn't really a need to keep them on all the time unless you're having issues with airflow with a large fmic. other then that, the airflow from the car moving should be more then enough. what some people do is set up a switch to turn their fans on and off for that extra cooling power when sitting still in traffic or at the track, etc.

im going to be sitting in traffic ALOT, thats what i get for living on long island
