Labor Day Weekend DSM MEET in Salinas, CA MAY 24rth

Notice how my post said I'll TRY to make it, how am I supposed to make a 2 hour drive down with no running car? Would you be happier if I had tried to walk down there? My Honda buddy has gone to several DSM meets to me and you can see I go to like 99% of them since I take pics at all of them, no need to get butthurt over the fact that some people couldn't make it, especially if they were tentative from the beginning.

I'm also sure Sheldon would have LOVED to go with vomit all over the inside of his car, right?

I just feel bad for the two bay area dsmers that came since it wasn't all that great. I'm pretty sure no one here is butthurt, but for sure dissapointed.

I wasnt trying to call ppl out and talk ish, but the thread for the meet and caravan was all set to go and no one showed..... oh well im just glad i didnt try to meet up with the "caravan", and go down... also i know that dsm's arn't the most reliable cars so it IS better to not show and not be stranded far from home, as for vomit, yeah I wouldnt go either good luck with that eventsco21XL...I hope this doesnt split the forum between salinas members and the bay folks...well I hope to see you guys at the next meet....

I hope there's not gonna be any gruges held. As much as we all love dsm's, you never know what's going to happen. My car's been down for two years, finally fix it, and then my windows don't work, or my ac, and then it wouldn't start, now the ps is leaking, and possibly my cv boot needs replacing...and even I had high hopes of going (in my saturn that needed to have a tire replaced haha). I ended up having to work anyways, because no one would work for me during a holiday weekend.

My vote is to not have meets on holidays haha. The last one in union city I couldn't make it to because it was on mother's day (I bartend and waitress so the whole staff has to work). I'll never be able to go to a meet...what's next 4th of july?

Anyways, I haven't been on this site for years (I have another account but it's been so long I couldn't remember my log in info) but whoever's the one who usually puts these meets together should start thinking of dates...do you guys still do the stinson beach meet? I've been to those and it's always a cool meet. Nice drive, great scenery for pics and a chill spot to bbq, and those with gf's, we're at the beach so they can lay out on the beach.

quit whining like girls. Its the bay area dsmr's ... you should have just known that 75% wouldnt show up. There is a reason why we almost never had meets. Im suprised at the turnouts at all the recent union city meets have been so good.

You guys should quit sounding so butt hurt and make it sound like they missed out on a great meet, rather than ruined it because they didnt show up...

I didn't even put my name on that list but somehow it ended up on there. Now I would have loved to come out to Salinas for the meet, but due to other circumstances, wasn't able to make it.

This is the reason why we never started lists for the Union City meets. When people make a commitment and can't show, then it upsets other people.

Now I would want to apologize again for personally not showing, but like I've said I had other circumstances arise.

You shouldnt plan an event date with another bigger event date. Last time you set it up was the date for HIN. Now, this meet? I didnt know about the fremont meet till my brothers friends came by my house to meet up here and caravan to fremont. I didnt have any chois but to roll with them OR I could have went to salinas driving an hour long my self and be stranded on the side of the road. Yeah, my dsm broke down on the way home. good thing I had some honda guys to help me out.

Im sorry I didnt get to make it out there, you already know that dsm's arent the most reliable cars like said above. Anything can happen.

Sometimes, last minute things happen, it's part of life...Persoanlly, I never added my name 2 the list, but may have said (yes) on 1st page on thread...But I do recall seeing it on the list as xxbboygstxx (pending)...

I'm glad it was an OK turnout Most of you local guys have seen my RIDE and some others at the Union City meet, looking foward 2 next DSM meet in bay or here locally "only if im able 2 attend"

But yeah, when I saw the double din I 'd to myself. Must get kind of lonely in there with only one seat though. I'll have pics of your car up later this week, I took a ton of pics and still need to sort through them.

It was awesome meeting you though, thanks for the advice and big ups for being so friendly, a lot of guys keep to themselves at meets like that (noticed the honda guys talking about swapping their motors to run 14's?). That cream hatch was super clean though, that your buddy's?

I dont drive my car where i might get pulled over and they might pop my hood, and i dont drive it very far if i dont need to... Probably why i havent made it out to the Union city meets yet... and why i dont bring my car to daly city or san mateo... dont need to get pulled and my hood popped!

I brought my car up to colusa this last duck hunting season twice, and once i lost 3 bolts from my turbo to the manifold doing some pulls and whatnot on a backroad!!! good thing i was able to hit up ace hardware and get some new bolts haha!
I got 24.5mpg on the way up there and back too!
Gotta love the big turbo and how it stays out of boost on the freeway.

I'm sorry guys if I might of sounded like a lil prick. I'm sure I wasn't the only one ticked off when they left home from that meet. Anyway, I talked to the dealership owner and he said that sometime in JULY we will have another one. NEXT time I'M NOT going to make no list on who shows up. I guess our expectations were WAY bigger than the turn out did. Anyways, if I were to compare it to the last one, it wasn't so bad once you actually think about it.

I wanted to go but, I was down in LA. About doing it again in July The weekend of the 11th is MOD down in socal and I'll be down there for that meet. Caravanning down there with the Evo guys. I don't think too many DSMers will be making the 6 hr drive down that way. Hopefully it'll be later in the month so I can make it.

A 6hr drive is nothing, driven my DSM all over CALI Even made a trip 2 AZ and back w/ my semi-beast! That's why I own a DSM, have the luxury 2 drive all day & nite "daily driver" My technique, very simple...keep maintainance on point & your ride will take care of you...

If I have day off, mind if I roll w/ the evo's and you meDave?

So.. Ya.. I drove 2 1/2 hours to this meet.. Not gonna say anything to anyone.. cause the chicken was worth the drive hahaha..

I did get the seat.. There was no way i was driving 2 hours in a seat made for a guy half my size .. Looking forward to the next meet guys.. We should PLAN this one.. in good advance.. so everyone can find time to go.. IMO
