I should be able to figure this out, but obviously I can't so if anybody could help me that would be great! The problem is that the LED in the switch will not light when its flipped to the on position. Terminals 2 and 3 both have continuity when switched on. No continuity when switched off. Terminal 1 (12V) does not have continuity with any of the terminals when switched on or off. When I turn the switch off, the spike through the relay (i'm assuming) will flicker the LED for half a second. The below circuit works fine, except the LED will not turn on when the switch is in the on position. On the box for the switch it shows terminal 1 to be 12V, terminal 2 accessory, and terminal 3 ground.

Any help would be awesome! Thanks in advance :thumb:

um... don't you have a dead short when 2 & 3 are connected? I don't think you need the wire going to terminal #1. Then it'd be a matter of having the polarity of the LED correct. And does it already have its own resistor in its circuit to make it light?

Thanks for the reply. It must have its own resistor built in the switch. And like you said, terminals 2 and 3 are dead shorted when the switch is on. If I took the 12V off terminal 1, I don't think it would affect the circuit at all. I just assumed that that was for the diode in the switch. Like it shows I have constant 12V to the switch and a constant ground (unless its switched). I guess I'm not sure from here. I'm going to take a look at it again today and see what I can find. Thanks for the reply Defiant!

Cool thanks. I wonder if that switching diagram would work with how I have my circuit wired... So insted of teminal 1 being 12V I would make it ground and the rest of the circuit would be the switched 12V. Hmm I'll check it out today hopefully that is what I'm looking for. Thanks!

Hey it worked. I guess the box was wrong and insted of terminal 1 being constant 12V it should have just been a ground and the other terminals are switching 12V. Thanks! I'll be posting pictures when everything is finished hopefully by Friday. Thanks for the help
