KYB gr2 and eibach Prokit. bad idea?

Hello everyone,

I have come across a good deal from a buddy of mine. A full set of KYB gr2s front and rear and the eibach prokit. all the mounting hardware is included (EVERYTHING IS BRAND NEW). i have read mixed reviews that the gr2's dont do well with a lowering spring, is that the case?. im not going to the track or racing, just daily driving that is all( highway and city). will this combo be alright? my suspension now is shot and i need to get this taken care of before i get back to school in 2 weeks. also will my car be able have a proper alignment or will i need to buy new camber control arms in the rear. if anyone has any recomendations i would greatly appreciate the help. thanks for you time,

Well, I'm 2G but I've had the same setup for about 2 years now and I've loved it since the day I did it because I didn't want an extreme drop. I think that once you don't go lower than that on GR-2's then you'll be fine.

Edit: By the way how much is it costing you?

I have been running the same setup for several years and have no issues at all. The gr2 works fine with the prokit but if you go with springs any lower, the gr2's will bottom out and kill them. Make sure that you cut the bumpstops according to eibach installation instructions and it will ride fine.

thanks for the replys. well thats some reasurance atleast.. i would not go any lower the the prokit because it doesnt make any sense for me to do that. upstate ny has bad winters and some terrible roads .im not going to do the install myself since i have never done that type of work before. im sure its not to difficult but i have a friend that works at a good shop that i take my car to. i will advice them to cut the bumpstops(what is the reason for this?). im getting the whole package for a little over $450. so i think its a good deal. what do you think?

I purchased my new bumpstops from kyb when I got the shocks. A local auto supplier keeps them in stock so I didnt have to search for them.

This setup on ebay is much cheaper, I'll advise you to go this route and if you don't have an ebay account then get one. There's no need to spend extra money.

well i dont think its that bad a deal. first off 450 has all the hardware. its brand new everything. my friend works at advanced autoparts and hes getting me 20%off and i will have it in 3days so i can have it installed on friday. time is an issue here. because i have to go back to school and learn! if i had to wait to get the stuff ground shipped from california i would be waiting a lot longer, i dont really feel like staying home any longer than i have to.

$390 plus all the hardware would be about $430 for the total set

so yeah its not as cheap but it would be quicker ordering through my buddy. i can have the parts sooner and get them installed that much quicker. id rather spend an extra 20 bucks to have it all come at the same time. thanks for your imput RWKustoms . but unless i find a drastically cheaper price for a complete new set. i will go with my buddy.

i would not buy used suspension for that price. obviously that would be a rip off. i should have clarified in the begining that it was all brand new. sorry for any confusion.

For some reason I just assumed the setup was used. If the stuff is new, it isn't that bad of a deal.
