Alright, so i'm looking to get a new intake for my 98 gst. The car is stock as of now except for new plugs and wires. Now i've been wondering what the difference would be between getting a K&N (K&N Fuel Injection Performance Kit Fits 1995-99 Mitsubishi Eclipse Turbo1997-99 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder Turbo1995-98 Eagle Talon Turbo (2.0L, turbo engine) at Crutchfield.com) or a CAI (Injen RD1880P at AutoAnything). What's the difference between the two performance wise?

I live in colorado where weather is a pain and constantly shifts(yesterday was 50 in the morning w/ sun and snowing by 4pm). I'm worried about getting a CAI and drenching it in water.

Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks

Yeah considering a well tuned car with none of that emission crap... doesn't have as much of the bad stuff as a badly tuned car with it.

Oh and E85 if you want to go that route for emission, but the process for making it makes it a moot point and blah blah blah

yeah I would tell them to eat a dick its my car. But that is also why I will never ever ever ever never ever live in California.

There's a reason I always carry my 1\2" torque wrench in my car :beatentodeath:

:D

My saturn has the egr capped, no catalytic convertor, couple of other things that would make it fail emissions in most states. Exhaust smells like nearly clean air and water vapor. Idleing you can't smell it at all.

Looped and eliminated as many vacuum lines as I could including the Purge solenoids (or what ever they are called) for the FPR and what not. Ummm Gutted Cat, EGR Block of plate, no Fuel recirculation canister thingy. I spit chunks of carbon out on cold humid mornings, and I also have a increasingly large carbon spot making it's way up my back bumper. Lota good emissions tests do huh?

I made 18X H\C on emissions HAH

I can't say what I make on emissions. I know my DSM reallly really needs a tune because it runs rich as hell. I can allways smell fuel vapor coming from the tail pipe. Especially at idle.

Car runs good though so I am not worried about it until I get the 6 bolt rebuilt and swapped.
We dont actually have emissions tests here in Alabama. You can get pulled over if your exhuast produces noxious vapors though.

the only thing you get pulled over for in Wisconsin is a moving violation or to give you a friendly tip that you have a light out or something similar.
