just took off my throttle body....its dirtly, what should i use to clean it

basicly i dont feel like riding a pedal bike to napa to get throttle body/ carb choke cleaner... is it ok if i just use gas?.... and are there any holes i should plug up?


oh and it looks really dirty in the intake......can i clean that without taking it off and how do i clean it?

Do it the right way with the throttle body/carb cleaner or don't do it at all.

well im going down to napa to buy the carb and choke cleaner and ima just do it how vfaq says to do it.... but what about the intake? can i spray carb and choke cleaner all up in there? it looks pretty gunked up in there..

You would have to take it off to clean it properly. You can clean it while its on the car but you have to use the sea foam method (run a search for that)
