Just got my wideband o2 sensor in the mail. I know how to install it but my question is, are the white and blue wires necessary to splice into the harness when using the factory o2 housing? Not a huge fan of doing that was looking more to just see my air/fuel ratio.

yeah I plan on dsmlink, so no wont need them for tuning. thanks for the help.

because the computer still reads the other o2 sensor correct?

You'll need the wideband logged to properly tune with ECMlink. Go ahead and run the white wire into the proper ECU input now.

Edit: I misread your original post. It sounds like you want to install the wideband in place of the factory front o2 spot. Assuming you're installing the wideband at the same time as link, you'll use link to simulate the front o2 sensor signal. If not, you'll have to switch some things around to make the wideband simulate a narrowband signal.

The directions say the blue wire connects to a com port for hyper-terminal data logging. White connects to any auxillary unit that accepts 0-5 volt input.
