Just got back from the dealer...

on a recall, and guess what?!!? There replacing the tran case!!! I'm pretty excited..they were also talking about looking at the trany. Cause of the fact they've seen the transfer case screw up the trany..so they want to check it all out and will replace trany if need. Which they went ahead and ordered both!!
I know my luck is slim on getting a new trany, but it wouldn't hurt to hope!!
They liked the look of the talon, what Ive done to it...I was pretty surprised they didn't frown down on it for what I've done to it (which isn't much at the moment). Have yall had luck on this recall???

Just go to your local dealer...gs-t/x must got to
TSi/AWD must go to dealer....cause of the vins..you have to... *shurgs* didn't matter to me cause mits/crysler are togather were I'm at

I don't know if that has anything to do with it

opps..and just got the service center and hand dem your vin number and you might as well change the "owners" info also since you will be there at the dealer....owner info..since you on the car now change the address and change it into your name for dealers concerns..for recall mail info.....and junk.

yeah, you just call satan and ask them if your car has had all the recalls fixed. Just give them your VIN from your car.

Safty recall could be done as many times as needed, in most cases and varies from dealer to dealer.

The transfer case is covered under a safety recall so they are obligated to replace it as often as it needs to be. The transmission is not! They will not replace it free and neither will Chrysler. MAYBE if it the x-fer case DID lock up and sieze the trans they MIGHT replace the tranny but they are not required to under the recall.

YOU'D BETTER BE CAREFUL AND ASK A LOT OF QUESTIONS! That new tranny could end up costing you $3000!!!

^ ^ ^ exactly my thought. Interesting way for them to cover their labor on the T-case, rape you for a transmission as well.

I don't know about back there, but out here, the shop MUST give you an estimate of costs before starting work, and MUST get your authorization before going beyond that estimate (which is still pretty effed if you're $1000 apart and need to have a running car).

I've not heard of a T-case damaging a transmission, although I'll not hesitate to change that if you guys have stories.

Ya don't worry..I saw the work order...I dont lke not getting recits(ms)....it said RIGHT on there order transfer case along with trany.... -0- amount...no charge...even asked the head Service Manager...so no worries...
