i have a 93 eagle talon tsi...it has to many problems to list..im new to this car and forum so dont hate me yet:thumb:

my car currently will not start. i have replaced the transistor, cam angler sensor, wires, plugs, fuel pump. it is not getting spark in two cylinders.
when it did start it would idle at 450rpms and was almost undrivable.

if anyone is good with a dsm in the central jersey area and wants to take a look food and beer will be provided :thumb:

Hell dude, if you're going to junk it I'll give you some money for it. Just send me a message and let me know.

^^

What they said. See if its something simple like a coil pack. If the car's body is in good condition, please don't junk it... sell it to someone on here that will save it.

Help the guy out guys, this isn't the FS area.

Things you should check :

1 : The Coil packs
2 : Check the PTU
3 : Check the ECU plugs for loose wires
4 : Pull the ECU, take out the 4 screws holding the top of the case on, open it up, and check for any leaking or bulging caps. There's an example below. If there is ANYTHING leaking out of the caps, then they are bad. If the tops are not perfectly flat and are raised up like a dome, they are about to become an issue.

+1...To test the coil packs, Measure the resistance in both the primary coil and secondary coil.

(1) Measurement of the primary coil resistance.
(2) Measure the resistance between connector terminals 3
and 2 (the coils at the No. 1 and No.4 cylinder sides) of the
ignition coil, and between terminals 3 and 1 (the coils at the
No.2 and No.3 cylinder sides).
Standard value: 0.77-0.95 ohms

(3) Measurement of secondary coil resistance.
(4) Measure the resistance between the high-voltage terminals
for the No. 1 and No. 4 cylinders, and between the
high-voltage terminals for the No. 2 and No. 3 cylinders.
Standard value: 10.3-13.9 kQ

Be sure, when measuring the resistance of the secondary
coil, to disconnect the connector of the ignition
coil.

I believe this should be the first step.

Thanks . I m going to look at it this weekend if its nice out, then let you guys know if it worked or not. thanks again for all the input. I m not going to junk it if it comes down to it i will put it for sale, i m sure someone will give her a nice home and the attention she needs.
