so in my search for cheapness i've found these "johnny racecar" intercoolers, yeah, they are cheap for a reason, but i was wondering whether i would be better off spending more on the intercooler to get a spearco, and less on other things like exhaust, clutch, etc... looking for about 350-375 hp at the crank, T04B v-trim turbo most likely...
I don't need my A/C and will be buildling the piping myself... (mandrel bends of course) any other cores that i should look at? (where can you get the johnny racecar one other than ebay? )
I kinda like the black anodized look too... i'm trying to keep this car quiet and completley stock looking

There's several threads floating around here about the Johnny Racecar intercoolers. I installed mine a week ago and after putting it in I could definitely feel a difference in power. Except now I hit fuel cut like crazy (even at half throttle) because I'm still on 450s. I personally think the intercooler is of great quality and is a good idea if you don't want to spend 900 on a big name kit.

Good luck on your decision. :thumb:

if your looking for a good kit for cheap check out ongreenperformance.com they have some nice kits on there for both 1g and 2nd gen.

but about the JRFMIC, my friend got one for his 2g, and he loves it.

I had one of his first IC's on my 92 GSX before I sold it. It was the 6" one. Very good quality in my opinion and I'm going to get the new 8" one for the 92 GSX that I have now after I upgrade my turbo. He's a good guy with good products and good prices, you really can't ask for too much more.

trapspeed is that his larger core ic?
pretty cool to see that you can retain foglights with his ic, im definitly picking this up.

would the 8ich core be enough for a 20g...im thinkin of upgrading to one. i run at the track alot and prolly see upwards of 25psi?

do you mean 8" by height? if so i was wondering the same as well. I see alot of people with big fmic's on 2g's , where only about 7 to 8" are exposed, so do the 3-4 inches tucked away make a difference?
