I bought a 2g intake manifold for resale and am thinking about installing it on my 2g. I have started a basic Evo 3 16g build including Evo 560,Evo mas, 190 fuel pump. My head has a few issues so i planned on installing the intake manifold when i removed it. My question is what is all needed to swap a smim in place of a stock 2g 7 bolt intake manifold? I know my jm intake is setup for a 1g tb can i use a 2g tb? I have searched but haven't had all my questions answered.

Thanks

The manifold will sit lower and will require modification of the intercooler piping. Your battery will also need attention as it will locate everything very close if not hitting the battery.

Yes you can use the 2g throttle body but it is smaller than the 1g throttle body but they both mount the same so why not use the 1g throttlebody with all the 2g sensors?

You will also need to figure out how to mount the power transistor along with the coil pack, and vacuum lines.

That is all determined by your setup. If you run alot of accessories I would look into maybe a relocation not necessarily to the rear though. In the past with a few members cars, when installing smim, we dropped the battery down to the subframe. The only issue this prevents is the lack of a tiedown, in which can be remedied with some DIY.
