Why is it that you only port the upper intake manifold and not the lower one also?

The manifold halves are not ported in the manner most people think. The manifold runners are left stock. The opening on the upper manifold at the throttle body is about 2 millimeters smaller than the opening on the throttle body itself. This section is ported and polished out to give even air flow and not create turbulance.

For those still interested in buying the Jeep Throttle body and matching upper intake manifold... I currently have one on the car now. Toney has the list and we will be holding to our word on going by it. However, it will take several weeks/months to get through the list we have now. We are not taking any more names until I can release the one I have on the car now. I will do my best to keep everyone informed.

What kind of problem would you have if you had the stock intake tube? Do the prices include shipping?

yeah it includes shipping since you will have to ship your stock stuff to us, but the stock intake wont work because the inlet on the TB is too large for the stock intake.

Oh and yes Malenko, once you put that TB on you will be the only one that we know of with a Jeep TB and a Turbo kit.

Just to clarify since Toney is a putz (he's sitting next to me so I can talk smack), we pay to ship the modified manifold and throttle body, the buyer pays to ship the core back.

On the cores... There's a $100 core charge (which we've had all along). When we send you the stuff, you send us the stock stuff back (after you install the Jeep TB and make sure everything runs fine) and I will inspect it. Provided everything is there and re-useable then we refund the core (Malenko has done this and we had no problems, thanks Thom). If either the upper manifold or the throttle body are NOT reusable then the buyer forfeits the core charge AND expenses for shipping the core to us in the first place.

All this is pretty much already stated and nothing's changed nor is unreasonable. I just wanted to make sure it's clear from the get go.

The Jeep TB on the car now is still working fine. But I'm going to keep using it for a while just to make sure things stay that way. We're looking to get some more stock Jeep TB's in here in the next week or two so hopefully the wait won't be much longer.

Most everyone who is serious about performance gains in the engine area start out with intake and exhaust. There's really no need to put on a jeep throttle or any upgraded throttle body unless you've already go some sort of short ram or cold air intake system in use already.

well that's why i was asking; i already have a AEM short ram, and if that's not going to fit and my factory one is of no use either; then i wanted to know what i needed to order to work on the jeep t.b

This mod, as well as other mods like a direct fit no assembly required throttle bodies have been used for years. I first was concerned about this as well. I even went so far as write down what my short and long term memory was, my idle control motor step count, what my a/f ratio was at WOT, and a few other things. Then I put it on the car and ran it. It did not make any significant difference in the air/fuel ratio or anything else that is vital for performance and engine longevity. Just for reassurance... visit the 2gnt with turbo bolt on forums and look at the number of people still using the stock computer and injectors. While they change to an adjustable fuel pressure regulator that is boost sensative... they don't do much more. So we're by no means pushing the envelope there.

However, (don't ya hate this part) there have been problems with idle and the throttle plate opening and closing. It all depends on how much time is taken during the piecing together of the two throttle bodies. I will admit I've had to work out a few bugs in my own work. This is one reason why I am very hesitant to just ship out another TB until I have driven in for some time on my own car. All of the problems that have been introduced with the use of a jeep throttle body have been do to a faulty component used during the assembly, poor craftsmanship or someone installing it that had no business adding washer fluid to their own car.

No, this does not require ANY supporting mods with the exception of an after-market intake system with a rubber coupler (they all come with one) to fit the larger TB housing. No AFC, No adjustable fuel pressure regulator, no fuel pump re-wire, no fuel pump upgrades.
Just put it on and enjoy the upgrade.

When we get the money to get some more jeep throttle bodies and when I get the time to make some more. Right now I've got my hands full with my two cars and Toney is just getting started with a new job. Plus... I'm very slow in making them and determining them worthy for sale. Toney's got a list with at least ten people on it. I told him not to take any more names until I get more made and am ready to release them. We're both doing this as secondary income and for fun. So if it gets to be a pain or we don't have the time... it goes on the back burner.

Look for another thread in here called "beautiful throttle body" or maybe... "Throttle body review" I know the one Malenko started had a pic in it.

As for the other TBs... I don't know. No one has piped up who has an aftermarket TB.

my intake gets that whistiling kinda turbo sound at i'd say about 35% throttle at about 3500 rpms. I don't have an afc of any sort so the throttle number is kinda estimated, I know it's no where near full, but the rpms is right around 3500-4
