Ok here it is...i have a 91 GSX eclipse...bought a JDM motor and transmission.....decided to tear into the motor before i put it into the car. (my old motor had too many problems to worry about fixing anymore) i took off the oil pan and someone had not installed a connecting rod correctly...it came off and beat the inside of the motor all to pieces..i bought another bottom end for it...which i just recently discovered that it has a 7 bolt crank and mine is a 6 bolt... My question is "Can i just use my old original crank in the 2g block?" Also will the head of my 1g JDM bolt up with the 2g block without too many if any issues??? Please help

All this JDM talk and they are the same block. There is no difference between a JDM 6 bolt and a USDM 6 bolt.. You can't put a 6 bolt crank in a 7 bolt. You wasted a bunch of money on these used blocks instead of getting a rebuilt block from one of the vendors on here. It is also pointless to use a 1g head on a 2g block as it is better to utilize the better design of the 2g head. People are putting 2g heads on 6 bolt blocks because of the better results. again a 1g head is a 1g head regardless of "JDM" or not.

A USDM is 7.8:1 and a JDM is 8.8:1...so yea there's no difference ;) Along with a 6-bolt crank not fitting in a 7-bolt engine, a 2g block will not have any provisions for bolting the front and rear engine mounts to it. As for the head, go with what you want. I would stick with a 1g head in a 1g car.

i dont believe thats correct i had a buddy with a so called jdm engine and its compression was the same as my usdm engine. he bought it from a reputable supplier
but like said jdm 4g63=waste of money imo

JDM 6-bolts are 7.8:1.

Thanks guys for all the input! I have a ways to go with this build, so I will have many more questions. My main goal is to get it running again. After that happens I can start getting all of the "go faster goodies" thanks again
