JDM swap in progress...quick question?

ok guys, im swappin out my nt motor and puttin in a jdm. got my engine out, split it from the transaxle, the old one is 7 bolt, new one is 6 bolt so im glad about that...my quesiton is...the oil filter housing on the jdm is different? on my usdm motor there is a little sensor on the bottom...it resembles a wastegate but obviously its not, however, there isnt one on the jdm motor, its just the mount and then the oil filter. anyone know what this is or what it does? ill post pics tomorrow when i get them taken.

I believe that is your oil presure sending unit!

Good question. From the info you've supplied I would have to agree with the above post. Although you could easily swap the housings and utilize the sensor, [I realize an oil cooler(more time and money, but well worth it), would also be required]. An aftermarket guage will have to be used, but If your willing to search, you could easily find one (guage) for very cheap. Good luck.

Yes that would be your sending unit. You will not be able to hook your stock one up to it. I have a jdm motor in my car and my oil pressure gauge dont work, so i just got an aftermarket. It was something i was going to do anyways so it wasnt a big deal to me.

I have a new Autometer Sport Comp. Oil pressure gauge im lookin to get rid of b/c i dont need it. If you are the least interested just pm me.

yeah Im having the same problem when I put in my jdm motor, on the oil filter housing I dont see a oil pressure sending unit. I was wondering though if I could just add on the stock oil pressure sending unit onto my oil filter housing or will that not work. Just in case it doesnt I already have a oil pressure gauge and I would think that would be the same spot the stock sending unit would be the aftermarket would go as well.

Hi guys well I still cant find what port to put in the oil pressure sending unit on my oil filter housing. As you can see from the picture there isnt one on there. So which port would be the correct one to put the sending unit in?
