Hey guys I have a JDM 60mm 1g Throttle Body. I am going to be installing it on my 2g this weekend. I wanted to know a couple things. Please try and help me out if you can answer any of the below questions:

1.) Will I need ANYTHING when I swap these out?

2.) Is the install somethign that is easily done or is their somethign I should be ready for?

3.) Will I notice any difference while driving the car once I have the new TB in?

4.) All the little hoses coming out of the TB are placed in other holes on the TB is this normal?

5.) I heard some sort of gasket is needed. Is this true? If so where do I go about getting one of these gaskets?

6.) Is hooking up the Throttle Cable soemthign tough to do? I mean I am a moderate tuner but I don't know everything by any means.

Thanks guys!

well your going to need throttle body gaskets. orielys or similar parts store should have them. Your going to port your intake manifold opening right? Otherwise this is a waste of time to just put on the bigger throttle body. Hooking up the throttle cable is no big deal.

This site should help you with any more questions you might have.

Easy, no big deal. As for noticeable differences from this, idle maybe. Usually with this TB idle is a bit shakey. Leave all the hoses hanging and not hooked. Cap off the nipple on the TB. You will need a larger diameter gasket and drain your coolant too. I forgot to say, you have to check the ISC....forgot your putting it on a 2G motor.

95-talontsi could you please elaborate on porting my intake. What do you mean I have to port my intake? How tough is it to do this? How critical is it to do this? Could anyone else verify that I do infact need to port out my intake. Thanks for the help guys!

Bascially, you should port the inlet of the intake so it matches the size of the throttle body. If you don't, there will be an abrupt step down in diameter of your setup. This will cause turbulance. Even with the larger throttle body, the restriction from the smaller port would sort of render it as no longer an upgrade.

So I take it you guys suggest I have this done at a performance shop? What does porting a intake usally run so I don;t get ripped off?

That Link to the RRE site tells you exactly how to do it. Put the 1g gasket on your intake and mark the circle with something and with a grinder of some sort just match it. I couldn't tell you how much it would be to have done at a shop.
