I have a 4G63T that is in shambles. I plan on building that on my engine stand, while I get another motor to just have fun iwth until I'm done with this one... I was wondering if this wouldnt be a bad idea... Ok, since JDM 4G63's are usually about a grand cheaper than a 4G63T, could I just put my 1G turbo parts on the 4G63 and boost factory levels and be ok? Whats JDM 4g63 compression ratio? I definitely dont wanna detonate! I have the the ECU out of a 6 bolt turbo TSi and wiring harness... I also have the 1G turbo and manifold... got a FMIC kit and HKS SSQ BOV shortly coming... I'll also be ordering a new feed line kit for the turbo... Is there anything wiring or sensor wise I'd have to worry about on this swap, too?

Does anyone have an idea on this? If its not a big hassle then I'm gonna do it! If so, I plan on tryin to order the motor tonight... Any info is greatly appreciated!!!

i have a jdm evo 3 motor in my talon and it shouldnt be a problem...the comp. is 9.0.1....the stock injectors are 510's so you could do about 15 pounds safely. are you running a translator or a 2g maf in your 1g? and dont worry about detonating if you dont go over 15 pounds...that is if your fuel pump is in good working order.

no!!!! thats the jdm injector size....ok a little hard to understand....your all around in circles....

are you talking about turboing a non turbo 4g63???

Yeah... I got a 4G63T block and head in the garage I plan on takin' my sweet time buildin', but I wanna get a 4G63 and slap all my 1G turbo parts on it and run it while I build it and then throw this motor in a 2G shell... Now ya get it?LOL.... Sorry for the confusion... Thats why i was askin since I have the turbo ecu and harness, and 6 bolt tranny, etc. what else might I need to throw the 6 bolt N/A on there...

You seem to be under the impression that the JDM motors aren't turbocharged. They are. Usually when you buy one it comes complete with turbo, exh/intake manis. It's usually a complete motor from the valve cover down. I've got one in my car now, works perfectly.

I think this is going to be a stupid question, but I'll ask anyways. Are the JDM engines 6 bolts? Or are they 7 because they're from the earlier Evo?

I'm thinking about just using one as a base to start a mild 6 bolt stroker build while I keep driving my car. (once my car gets driving)

I'm not under the impression of anything... There are JDM N/T 4G63's then they have JDM 4G63T's... Usually the N/T's are like 500-600 compared to the 4G63T's around 1,500....

Hey I don't know if your interested, but KarKing has new rebuilt 4g63T for 1,200.. I forget the comp ratio's off hand but I believe they're 9:1, so be gentle with the boosting if you go that way. Is this going on your 93? 7bolt?
Oh and JDM 4g63, have both 6 and 7 bolt..

Yeah, its a 93, but its a 6 bolt conversion...:)... The motor that was in it the guy just decided to fully tear it down and revuild none of it and many small hoses, bolts and studs are missin... so, thats why I'm gonna take time on that block and head!!! Thanks for the info!!!

I'm sorry for the doiuble post guys, I was just really wantin' an answer... I'm tired of not havin' the Talon runnin'... I'm sure many of ya know how that goes... No one was answering so I thought I'd try a better title, but I know not to do that now! Anyways, I still appreciate the help!
