It's time to choose. I have a 98 Eclipse RS automatic, that I use as my daily driver, I want to make quicker, a street/drag car that i want to run 14's or better. Now here's the question, Nitrous or Turbo?

From reading around, Turbo would give the most horsepower, and being my car is an automatic, would give more power in the low range, which is what i'm told the turbo will do. The only negative thing that i read is, turboing the 420a leads to problems with the engine sense it isn't built for a turbo, and a kit for $2000-$3000 still doesn't give you all the parts that you need, sounds like a headache, but is it worth it compared to the nitrous.

From reading What I heard about nitrous, It can be safe to go with the wet shot from a 50-75 on stock internals. I plan on upgrading the Fuel pump either way, so that shouldn't be a problem. The only negative about Nitrous, is my opponent will get me off the line, and I won't be able to engage the nitrous until i am at open throttle, which with an automatic, might take long. The only reason I'm thinking of going Nitrous is because Its a little bit cheaper, and it gives the horsepower gains. Even if I had to upgrade internals, wouldn't I have to do that for both the nitrous and turbo? I could also keep upgrading my car until I had the money to nitrous it to, compared with the turbo, there really isn't much upgrading to do until you actually have the turbo. Also, with the nitrous I could not have to have it on all the time so I can keep driving it as my DD, then when i want the horsepower, let go with the nitrous.

I have roughly $3000-$3500, So My ? is, Which one would be better for my situation, the turbo or nitrous? Which one is going to be better for low range power and acceleration? Which one is going to be better for a Daily Driver?? Please don't tell me to sell my car either, it isn't a option
