Its not my pump relay what is it?

I have a problem where my fuel pump will not turn on. Sometimes everything is fine and the car starts right up, then after a while, it will turn off. Sometimes while driving the pump will shut off. I thought it was the fuel pump relay, as was hinted at by other threads, but after i bypass the relay, the pump will run but the car will not start. The starter and everything is trying to start, but something between the pump and the engine is out of whack. The only time I know it will start is when the little orange house icon on the dash lights up, no house, no start. Please help the problem has been going on since I replace the engine 2 years ago.

The orange house is the low coolant light which means your coolant overflow bottle needs more coolant or switch repair/replacement if the level is fine. The float switch gets gummed up by the stuff that settles to the bottom over 14 years. This should have nothing to do with your problem. Have you considered the pump may be going bad or the fuel filter is clogged or fuel pressure regulator is bad? The ECU controls the pump relay so if there is no voltage at the pump, either the ECU is bad (check for leaky caps) or the ECU thinks something catastrophic is happening so it is disabling the pump and ignition.
