Winter is here. I bought my car with no A/C or heat. The only thing that works is the rear windshield defroster.

I'm gonna buy heat and A/C off of this guy soon. But until then, is there anything I can do to keep warm while driving? It's almost unbearable driving with no heat. Maybe i'm just a wuss... :p

I was thinking about getting one of those outlets that plug into your cigarette lighter, and then plugging a heater into that, but that seems a bit excessive, and like it would drain a lot of power.

Any ideas? They don't make battery powered heaters or anything do they?

i wouldnt get a car heater, u might start a fire... that would be bad :( i would jsut put on some longjohns pop on some thick jeans tall socks and a sweater wit ha hood and a big poofy jacket and start cussing alot once i start to drive :)

If you get a space heater for you car make sure it doesn't use a lot of power. My girl friends car heater wasn't working so I tried to plug a space heater in but it needed to much power to work. My cigeret out let had a max of 300 watts.

id check to see if the heater hoses are blocked off, unless there is no heater in it.

How are you going to buy heat?

Every DSM has a heater core. Check to see if you still have coolant, check to see if your hoses are going to the heater core. They might have been blocked off due to a leaky core. Then check to see if the thermostat is totally stuck open. It has to be one or more of those things that are causing your car to make no heat.

You're overanalyzing his situation. His HVAC controls are gone, previous owner junked 'em when he pulled the AC and put gauges in the place of the dials.
