It finally runs!!!

Ive had the car for 3 months or so now and today finally heard it run for the first time.replaced the head and alot of basic maintnence since it was down . Got it to start about an hour ago and go figure its got a terrible leak at the manifold so after work tonight off that goes again. But still tons of relief!

And she's down again. Head is back on the bench, had two broken manny bolts when i got it so I doubled up the gasket and gave it a shot. No luck here! Leak was bad wouldn't build any kind of power in drive and slow to go in 1st and 2nd. Helicoil it is after i wear out my poor drill some more. Wont have money for new head set till payday though. Thats not untill next week. Thoughts of donation to Dragon Mans has crossed my mind a time or two now but I'm holding out a little while longer.

The guy I bought it from said he put a rebuilt head on after Timing belt jumped and then never could get it started. Huge lie! The head was warped so bad my machine shop couldnt level it. 3 bent valves, only 2 studs holding fuel pump down, 3 390 injectors and 1 450. The engine bay wiring was all crossed up and pluged to the wrong things. Brake rotors on front were so corroded/rusted where the pads sat for too long. No bolts holding rear drivers caliper on it just sat there. In the process of fixing all that I cut out the spare tire hump in rear, and crushed the tank down enough to have a flat floor. Very nice improvement by the way. Ran all new speakers and wiring,plus wiring in 3 gauges. stripped excess wieght from interior and engine. Cleaned the carpet while it was out. All the typical porting was done while motor was apart. Mounted FMIC then took off because some nice place sent me 4 in aluminum pipe for my IC piping instead of the 2.5 I ordered. They amazingly discontinued it had to have been seconds after I placed order. Just never got around to doing it again.Some paint touchup and exhaust work. Tons of hours invested and still have not enjoyed a nice drive in it

Oh and stroker comes next fall when Jacks has the Trans

i dont like drilling into aluminum so I am more comfortable with it off the car and one of them was bottom right by the power steering couldnt get in there.
