So i installed my "USED" MBC today and it doesn't seem to be working correctly.

Before install i was hitting right at 9 Psi.

After install (rather controller swithed on or off) i hit 10 Psi with a spike of 11 Psi.

I tried adjusting the knob a few times without any difference at all, so i said **** it! I turned the dial all the way up ++++ just to see if it made any difference ..... Guess what .. Nope!!

What could be wrong here ?

Verify that the installation is correct from manual/instructions and make sure the unit gets power. As it's used, check that there's no trash or large amount of oil in the vacuum lines or t-piece.

Beyond that, I wouldn't know.

Yes, i have already double checked everything ..... I'm not sure f the issue.

Anyone else ?

Thanks,
Mike

Ok, so i can't find the spring nor ball anywhere!

I checked Ace, Home Depot & Advanced Auto ....

Anyone have any suggestions ????

Thanks,
Mike

Ok, so i found the spring and ball for the DIY MBC ...

I followed this write up on it to the "T"

The "D.I.Y." Manual Boost Control

And Yes, i remembered to drill the bleeder hole .... :thumb:

The issue is that it seems that i am not able to get more than 10Psi with neither controller ...

I have the screw all the way down and tested the DIY MBC for leaks ...

I'm not sure what the issues are, can someone provide a list of things to check please ...

Thanks,
Mike

Forgot to mention, the only difference between that guide in my setup is the " T " from BOV-Intake-MBC is the " T " that came with my TurboSmart .. -> (arrow) is pointing tward the BOV.

have you checked for boost leaks ? if u have a big leak , it wont builn much boost . also im pretty sure you wont increase boost tightening against the spring . to raise boost , you make a controlled leak in the line going to the waste gate actuator . basically tricking the actuator into not seeing 10 psi until you are at the higher pressure you desire . hope this helps .

I assume you meant wastegate and not "bov".

JUZSLIDIN has it pretty much covered. You seem to have a mechanical problem of some sort (leak, turbo damaged, or something like that).

i had the same problem with my used mbc... i tried a few diff controllers which were all bad:banghead: but i thought it was my wg sticking... try disconnecting the wg vac hose and plug it off. then do a run in second and see if it goes past 10... as soon as it hits like 15-20 let off. if it doesn't go past 10 then you have a wg issue

Yea, i have already tried that and it doesn't go past like 11Psi .... However i still believe my
Wastegate is fine, i believe it my be the crappy 2G BOV limiting my boost as it leaks ....

What do you guys think ?

Thanks,
Mike

its possiable... what you could do is plug the recerk tube off and run a 2nd and 3rd pull and see if it leaks you should be able to hear it... if its not that then its a wg issue... does it run like crap??? have you done a b.l.t.?
