okok before you mods get all lock happy on this thread (it contains the word "rice") jsut here me out.

ALL I NEED IS A COUPLE OF RESPONSES, PLEASE don't turn this into a HUGE dibate, jsut a yes or no.

Is rice a mod done to your car jsut to make it look, or sound better? And it doesn't add any HP?

Please dont' start flaming!!, its jsut a question

It is a huuuuuge debate already. The word rice is so over-used now so who knows what it really is. Someone asked me what kind of car I had, I told them and immediatly they said riceburner:confused:

This is not the best forum to ask this in. You're gonna get all the ricers in here justifying body kits and vinyls and 20s as not being rice, when in fact they definitley are.

I say if the car looks faster than it actually is, then its rice. Like my car for example, it has a body kit, low, wheels, big brakes, carbon fiber hood, wing, and it looks fast. But the truth is that it started as a stock GS and I added everything and weighed it down and actually added a turbo to get it back up to a little faster than it was to begin with. I really dont care what people call it, its my car, rice or not.

Like I have always said:
Making a non-turbo eclipse fast...
Atempting the impossible.

It's rice. I haven't seen many on here that are more rice then yours.

BTW, I'm surprised this hasn't been locked yet...

riceburners are ANYONE that drives a japanese car - honda, mitsu whatever.. it started back in the day when people were like "if you dont buy an amercian car, your taking money out of an americans pocket" and that bullshit.. then i guess it evolved into altezzas, kits, etc as "rice due to the fast that everyone modding a call was in fact "a ricerburner" aka an "import driver"

now a days its over used WAY to much.

to me having a body kit, lowered, rims is NOT rice.

rice to me is that guy down the street.. 88 civic, 16 inch rims sticking out past the wheel wells as if they have 2 foot spacers in it. has a doul exhust tip that is louded then a boeing 747 while your straped to the eingie. more neone lights then a disco club, and more APC stickers then the local pepboys has in stock.

maybe i just say that cause i do like kits, and i do like rims.. that doesnt mean i dont like going fast or doing performance mods, because i do.

thats just my $.02

Thank you all for keeping htis under control. Personally i like 20's body kits, stuff like that..i as jsut wondering about the topic.

more comments, and please, like it has been, keep it under control. If i notice that it jsut because a big debate topic with people argueing, ill delete it! but jsut put your .02 in

rice, to me, is someone who buys anything and everything for there car. it seems like the people who do there cars up like that, means there car will be, without a doubt, ricey.

just my 3 cents.

usually i eat rice when i goto a chinese resturaunt... theres a good place down the road from me thats got a sweet buffet of stuff. Rice for cars.... no one really knows what exactly that is anymore! i guess i would say its a crappy car thats slow with a loud muffler, big wing, and some APC stickers. nothing else.

See it all really started as a mean discrimanating/ racist joke that was started by the "muscel" car group wich consisted of pure american cars ,
so basically to make the story short ,because the cars were from oriental background and most oriental ppl eat rice with every thing, they decided to call oriental imports rice mobiels , then all the accesories that came their after were dubbed ricer mods.

Since then it still remains a joke to some extent wich would in some magical way distinguish a performance car from a show and sound car.

Ricer is only a detrimental term used to classify a sertain group of cars and indaviduals. One import guy (performance) would call another import guy (show with an obsean amount of stickers) a ricer because they have different views and goals.

To me I think the whole ricer bit is way past due for its last words and the whole ricer thing should just be buried and done.

Ive always frowned on racism and discimanaton so rice in my vocabulary will only be used in assosiation with food.

Happy debating.

The funny thing is when people tell me im a riceburner. i ask do you know what DSM stands for? "ummm no" then go look it up. Any way I not saying my car is faster then this persons or that. but what i have done to my car i did because i like the way it looked and not what other poeople thought it should look like. I did all my motor mods first then the body. that way when people say that GS is slow, well i say step up

Ninjai ruken is totaly right in my eyes hes not a ricer because he has a body kit or a wing , hes another cool guy with a car that he has built to his standerds , so why should any body call him a ricer ?

Just wanted to tip an extra cent.;)

Were you going to ASK any thing about "Non-Performance Mods", or were you just swinging a stick at the wasp's nest?
