Is this a transmission problem?

Background to this problem is some stupidity that I'm embarassed to admit...I had a temporary brain vacation I think. I was running Seafoam through the engine and instead of driving to clear it out, I put the automatic trans into drive, held down the brake, and revved the thing...a lot.

Ok, so this is painfully stupid and obviously potentially damaging. Now the car will start up fine, but when I shift to reverse, the RPM's drop and either the car will die completely right away, or the RPMs will rise and fall a few times before eventually dying. If I move into neutral it's fine. If I manage to get going in drive, there is quite a bit of stuttering/bucking as I accelerate. If I manage to get moving, it seems pretty much fine.

I checked the ATF dipstick and it is sort of, for lack of a better word, "gritty," and smells pretty burnt and putrid. Can I assume I've trashed that automatic transmission?
