I don't think it is the fastest 4 cylinder in the world. It's probably the fastest in the US, but I think there is a faster outside of the country.

i forget where i saw it, there is a 4.6L 4cyl running in a funny car (integra) with a blower on methanol /nitrous running equavilent times to the top fuel guys.

id say the 4g63 is one of the most mass-produced 4cyl with potential and strength.

I think you guys are talking about Bob Norwood's Max-4 Integra. I don't think there was ever a class that it could legally race in, it was more for demonstrating what he was capable of.

I was watching a show about that car. It basiically only retains the 'front' portion of the car. I do not understant how it is an Integra also. It is no longer a honda block.

yep.. there is. not exactly a door slammer but still a mass produced 4cyl. engine

your right, but that wasnt the fastest. Ron Main has went 343mph in an ECOtec powered car.

so we have VW as the fastest 4 cyl dragster and chevy as the top speed fastest 4cyl.

but i think the original question was about drag racing with the key word being doorslammer, in this case yes the 4g63 is the fastest 4cyl engine powering a doorslammer car, but not the fastest 4cyl period.

Magnus has the quickest and fastest "door slammer". Not a funny car.

It's the same thing that classify's John Force's car as a Mustang, and Jeff Gordon's car as a Monte Carlo - nose, taillights, and badging.

It's a car with a body - It's got to look like something.



That Integra looks like a tuning nightmare though.
