Sad day today. Tiredness hit hard. Parking lot pole. Remind me to sleep at work instead of driving or doing anything else if tired...
She wont be spooling for a bit. I hope she can be fixed. What do you guys think?

I've fixed worse. She's definitely fixable. Probably won't be cheap if a body shop does it, although body work is kind of an art.

Local salvage yard. hood, front bumper, headlight, bumper reinforcement, radiator and condensor survive or no? Did the airbag go off?

Yes it's fixable, but:
Just to give you an idea; Two years ago I've just hit a dear with my VW jetta (1 front fender, 1 light, 1 hood, no rad or intercooler damage,no frame damage, no sterring components damage).
That cost $4000 (in canadian), i'm almost sure that your's will be more expensive, except if you do all by yourself...

Hood gone. Both airbags deployed, passenger headlights damaged maybe drivers too. fenders seem to be okay rad must be damaged coolant was leaking over the ground. not sure if the engine was touched. bumper reinforcement not sure or condensor. bumper is gone obviously. no frame damage seems to be the case. Sad just sad. Car is getting towed for an estimate and then to my house.

If the front bumper and hood are trash the chances are that the fenders may have shifted. Is the door gap even all the way with the fender? If the door hit the fender after you got out you may as well put fenders on the list.

I think passenger fender. The passenger door didnt open the way im used to it. Seemed to be weird when ai opened to grab stuff. Driver door opened fine.

Chances are the impact set the fender back into the door. The door is probably fine, but straighten out a fender may be near impossible. There may be some slight rubbing on the front of the door. It is all just a question of what you can live with.

Sorry to say, I think shes a gonner. You could fix it, but it'll definitely cost more than the shell is worth, especially with how hard 2gb parts are to come by in Canada...

maybe different in your area but here that could be "fixed" for under $350. You can get a primed bumper online for $50 and it fits pretty good. Headlight for like 100-125 new oem look. a used hood around here is 25-50$ and a radiator new online I am sure is cheap.

Okay thanks gents. Got her to a shop to see whats up. Maybe she will be a parts car maybe she will be fixed. Getting an estimate to see what the "shop thinks needs to be done" and then will proceed to tinkering. Yeah. 350 but getting done in a shop oh buddy. they wanted 3.5k for my sisters honda and all the dmg was a front fender wheel well guards repair and a rear fender.

I'm currently working on fixing my Spyder with LF corner damage. My outlook was that if the frame rails are straight, then everything else can be replaced.

Here's mine when I picked it up.

Just like yours, the hood bumper and head light were trash. Air bags deployed. But mine had fender and door damage, too. I spent about 2 hours straightening the fender rails out with various ratchet straps and chains.

Bottom line, if you are mildly competent with a wrench and like that car enough, it can be fixed.

GET IT OUT OF THE SHOP!
theres not 1000$ worth of parts needed even if you bought new, let alone used. and the work in swapping that stuff is pud, could be fixed in a parking lot on half a nice day with a small set of end wrenches and a ratchet with 2 or 3 sockets.
THE SHOP WILL QUOTE YOU 4000$ and tell you 'why dont you just trade it in or sell it to us.

8000 to 10000 without even opening the hood. he says my right frame rail looks damaged and the rebar. I told him not even do any work to check deeper.

Throwing parts at it from ebay or a salvage yard will NEVER get it to look as straight as it was. If a body shop can't do it, or charges a lot to do so, just look into getting another car that wasn't in an accident.

Personally, I could never drive a car again if it didn't look better or the same prior to the accident.

Shops and their estimates I tell u man. This can be fixed with some replacement parts. Theres a lot of part outs in the classifieds and also cheap parts online. It takes a lot to bend/damage a frame rail/chassis. They probably want to squeeze everything out of u. How fast were u going?

Just take a short ferry trip over to upstate NY. I've got 2 complete 2gbs and one 2ga eclipses over here . With airbags being deployed I'm not sure how that'll work in Canada though.

I wish it was that simple man. Everybody has a story behind them and things tie people down. Sometimes you want to do things even against logic but there is consequences in your relationships if you do so.

I should clarify a bit, I work for a salvage yard that HAS those eclipses there. I have no idea what it's like crossing borders with car parts.

Its not that serious.
And " estimate" Geezzzzzzzz man ive seen alot of scams but body shop estimates are up there on the totem pole.

How much do you love your car?

If this is your baby, then you should be able to put humpty dumpty back together with parts from a u-pull it or from a local part out. This may not be the cheapest solution though, and your car may not drive the way it used to.

Smart money is to buy a clean shell and put all your parts in that car. Maybe keep this one as a parts car or part out what you don't need to recover some of your investment.

Gotta remember he's in Canada.. I don't think eclipses/talons are nearly as plentiful up there as they are here, Even in upstate NY the DSM scene is few and far between, the only reason my salvage yard has any 2gs is because I requested 2 of them. Finding usable parts might be difficult. not to mention a halfway decent car.

I'd say fix it.........I fixed mine when someone cut me off and then slammed on their brakes. Looked a lot worse than yours. I had to replace the fenders, radiator support, hood, bumper, and headlights. Insurance totaled it out and gave me $4500 and I fixed it and painted it myself for just over $700......but I can do body work and paint. I would bet you could replace the cosmetic and straighten the radiator support. Painting would be the biggest cost if you can't do it yourself.
