Is my fuel pump going out?

the car boogs down a bit acts like it isnt getting fuel....thought it was a boost leak...still havnt done a BLT. But today when i stopped at advanced auto and seen my friend ( has a 99 GST) told him my problem and he jumped in and we took it for a spin and he said that the fuel pump might be going out....

* if i have my car at 4k or higher for awhile in one spot and then step on the gas a bit it acts like the car died and it just drops in RPM

* car sputters from time to time

* car is starting to "sputter" more often

if my fuel pump is going out then could someone recommend what brand of pump i should look into and price?... something that can handle 300-400 HP....

might be...the car was sitting for 2 months outside of a shop....and it has been raining about every night here....

idk....i let my dad take the car for a weekend and he told me that he filled it up 3 diff times....and my car saids premium fuel only.....and he put in super....would this be part of the problem?

It still sounds like a boost leak to me. It's not hard to check for major leaks first. If it idles rough and low or you hear a giant hissing with the engine running then it's a leak. As for the fuel pump, get a Walbro 190lph.

When my fuel pump was going out, my car took forever to start, so I really dont think it is your fuel pump.

He would need to buy an AFPR. Since his goal is at max 400, a Walbro 190 will do just fine.

the car idles at 1.1k doesnt move much

Did you set it for 1.1k? Did you mess with the BISS screw?

nope...the idle was like that when i got it.....so my fuel pump isnt bad?....
started the car up and listend a bit didnt hear anything that sounded like air leaking out of anywhere...what places should i check/tighten before i do a BLT?

P.S. my stock boost gauge doesnt work anymore....it does when i start the car and then it says it doesnt build any boost when im driving at all....
