Is my Exaust TOO SHORT? any possible problems?

Argh in Argh ..... wait, its not talk like a pirate day.

anyways, i had a turbo back exhaust system and by the ruls i cannot name the vendor, but this is my story.

my downpipe was welded crooked and me and my car Are in our last nerves over this setup.

it took well over 2 monthes to receive the replacement DP. I got it, and it was 4 inches shorter than my previous, and the hanger was welded on the wrong side.


so, either wait another quarter centuryfor another replacement that will fit, or considering i want to drive my car this decade, I took matter into my own hands,

I cut and welded ALL the hangers 3 inches back on the pipe so it would accomodate the shortened downpipe, my question is this

what problems can i expect from this legnth, see picstures below.

after all this headache I could use some

no, that was where the PREVIOUS owner decided to Buff the car

he didnt know what he was doing, so he killed the paint.

Weld in a 4" piece of pipe in the middle of the exhaust

why dont you just get an extra long test pipe made at an exhaust shop??
that way it will be link having a cat thats 4 niches too make up the difference.
it shoud cost well under a hundred bucks for a test pipe of any legnth.

oh, and my buddy had an exhaust with a badly located tip on his car when he bought it(changed to a extreme 3" soon after). you can expect your paint near the tip to turn a chared black color that will be perminate, and cant be fixed short of repainting the bumper. it looks really ugly on most color paints, luckly the 5" tip on the extreme exhaust almost completly obscures the blemish from view.
