Is my 2G airflow sensor messed up?

There is a little diode-lookin' thing in the throat of a 2G air mass when viewed from the end without the honeycombs.
This diode-thingy is obviously supposed to be connected at two points...mine is not.

I want to use it on my 1G with the help of DSMlink.

So the big money question is: will this thing still work without a catch or should I ask for a refund from DSMotorsport?

P.S. those guys have GOT to find some way around those styrofoam peanuts! In two separate orders, I got an intercooler and now this airmass completely jammed with those things...Just cover the ends in saran-wrap!

Do you have any pictures? I don't know what a "diode-thingy" is...

It is an electrode, and ofcourse it should be connected on both ends. have them ship youa new one
