Is it possible to fix this alloy wheel corrosion?

So I had a 2g a while back and when i totaled it i kept the new wheels an tires i had just put on it...HP Racing Evo Hyperdark Silver 18x8s.....I stored them in the basement at my parents house and apparently they had put them in their shed and the bags where left open:ohdamn::ohdamn: a little bit so they have experienced some great Mid Atlantic weather and now look like this:

There are little trails of something all over Lips of the wheels in a spiderweb like fashion. My roomate believes it to be moisture in the clear coat on the lip but im hoping not. One of them is also bent slightly from hitting a pothole going about 60 on a highway:banghead::banghead:....not fun. Do you think its worth salvaging these or just to get new wheels?

They can always be painted or powdercoated but I think the one with the dent is hopeless, I wouldn't try anything with that, either get one new wheel and sand and paint them all or get a new set.

You should be able to have them repaired for cheaper than buying new. As long as that dent doesn't have any cracks around it it's fixable. Look through the yellow pages for wheel repairers. I'd guess $80-110 per wheel. maybe more for the dented one.

when I curbed the wheel on my vintage porsche the best I could find for a "new" wheel was $500 a piece. A good place near me made it look brand new for $100

Obviously you guys, have never seen Wheel repairs. Here in my country, there´s nothing that cant be done. I´ve seen scenarios like this here, being fixed everyday, and if you don´t believe i can upload some more. This is what happens, when you live in a country where human labour is really valued.

Here´s another example. I can´t tell how many things we do here. I´ve done so many things with my bare hands, and fixed things beyond your imagination. I did my whole a/c system, using a montero compressor, fabricating a bracket, and welding the stock a/c hoses, to the montero ones. Thats just an another example of the willing to do things.

Considering I know what kind of loads wheels go through I wouldn't touch those things with a 10' pole.

looks good and safe to drive on are completely different things.

No offense to the repairer, I've just seen what can happen to wheels that were that far gone and repaired. It's not pretty.

Edit: the one that just has a bunch of the lip busted off wouldn't bother me, that part doesn't actually bear any of the load.

those wheels look good after they fixed them but they probably spent more than there worth to fix them. I would not drive on them either.

It looks good, and just might work for casual driving, but the metal is stressed and heated and cooled a certain way when produced, do these guys go through similar steps to ensure that the heat treating is equal throughout the whole assembly? Metal has different properties depending on how it is heated and cooled.

just have them repaired, that easy. it wont cost much b/c the damage is minimal

Thanks guys ill try the repaired route then cause i do like how these look on a 2g...

The rims were like $650 shipped so its probably worth it.

the barrell is heated to get the face inside, then cooled to retain diameter around the face and then attached whatever method the wheel was built for (monoblock, 2 pc, 3pc)
