Is it possible for the intercooler pipe to rub through the oil filter

I've never seen it. Metal rubbing against metal can wear metal over time. But seriously, you'd probably wear down the intercooler piping first, because you'd be changing the oil filter out.

Do you have a rubbing issue?

I sold my car and the kid put a stop payment on the second check because he says the intercooler/exhaust pipe rubbed a hole through the oil filter, and now it needs to be fixed. just getting a second opinion.

I would also agree that it would go through the intercooler piping first not only because the filter would get changed but just the fact that the filter is steel and the piping is aluminum, what ever happened to sold as is nowadays everyone thinks there is some kind of warrenty when you buy a car from sombody.
