St. Catharines,
hey has anyone bought the rebuild kit from ipt transmission and rebuilt their tranny themselves? if so how hard is it? im worried about doing mine myself.

yea thats what i was thinking to send it to ipt. Its going to cost about 4 grand buy the time its done with high stall torque converter shift kit and rebuild kit. so i think im going to see if i can find someone around here that can do it for me.

If you have rebuilt other autos in the past i say go for it, the dsm auto's are not that hard, but you need to know what you are doing, and you need to have a clean room, if you do not know what you are doing do not undertake this project you will have an expesice pile of parts that wont do anything.

How much power are you trying to make and what rpm do you want to launch at? The ipt restalled stock converter might be a better bet for you.

my goal is 400 horse 12.5 1/4.. im going to put the high stall torque converter in. As for shops i talked to Quality transmission and they seem to be the cheapest.
