Just wondering if I should pick up this intercooler. Its coming of a rx-7 with the spec being L24xH12xW3.5, bar and plated with 2.5 inlet and outlet short route style in a v form. I looked up the sbr street core and it was L24xH7.75x3.5W. It would go on a 1g, but I not sure would 4.5 height differ would be a problem. Thanks

It's going to be a bear to fit it in there. You probably won't have much if any of your bumper support. If you're going with a huge turbo I'd say it's a good idea. I wouldn't run a 16g or something through that, it's far too much space to try to fill between shifts and you will think your turbo is very sluggish.

There are plenty of 1g's running around with a 12" core. It's pretty high, and you might have to modify your hood latch on the radiator support to accept the IC, but is "should" fit.

As for affecting spool, on a fast spooling turbo like a 16g, the increased size will make a negligible change on time to full spool. You most likely won't even notice it if it does take longer. Just remember to do a boost leak test when you're finished installing everything.

are you looking to make 650whp + if not its overkill. But its your choice and it will fit if you can get creative.

Goodluck.
